About Home-Start Westminster - VCKC

Home-Start Westminster supports local families with at least 1 child under 5 who are experiencing difficulties. We currently support families living in the London boroughs of Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Kensington & Chelsea. We recruit and train volunteers from the local area with parenting experience to work with families in their homes, or within the local community, for two hours a week. Carefully-matched volunteers are able to build trusting relationships with families through their offer of time, emotional support, practical support and friendship and can act as a bridge between the family and the wider community. We are a small team working with a committed group of volunteers, and we aim to really make a difference to the quality of life of the families we work with. Home-Start wants to see a society in which every parent has the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life. Home-Start supports parents for as long as they need it as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links in the community.
