As a volunteer for Fine Cell Work, you will be covering shifts in our pop-up shops in Peter Jones and Pentreath & Hall. Responsibilities include keeping the shop clean and tidy, welcoming customers, making them aware of FCW's work, having a good knowledge of the products and taking email addresses for our mailing list.
About Fine Cell Work (London)
Fine Cell Work is a charity which makes beautiful handmade products in British prisons. Teaching prisoners high-quality needlework boosts their self-worth, instils self-discipline, fosters hope and encourages them to lead independent, crime-free lives.
Fine Cell Work enables prisoners to build fulfilling and crime-free lives by training them to do high-quality, skilled, creative needlework undertaken in the long hours spent in their cells to foster hope, discipline and self esteem.
They can also learn sewing machine and textile production skills in our prison based workshops. Our aim is to allow them to finish their sentences with work skills, money earned and saved, and the self-belief to not re-offend.
