The Borough's CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU plays a vital role in the community, especially in difficult times.
As an adviser you can be a key part of this service.
Your responsibilities will include:
> interviewing clients, both face-to face and on the telephone;
> finding and interpreting the relevant information and exploring options and implications with the client;
> acting on behalf of the client: negotiating, writing letters or making referrals;
> completing clear and accurate case records.
You'll receive CAB certificated training to allow you to carry out these functions.
To supplement this you'll be encouraged to keep up to date through your own reading, and through support and supervision sessions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in helping people deal with life's difficult issues. You'll also acquire plenty of experience with which to develop further in this field.
In return the CAB asks for a minimum time commitment of 2 full days per week (this is flexible) and the time scale guideline for the training program is expected to be 18 months but entirely depends on each individual.
