The Human Library is a social change event with a difference, where people tell their life stories directly to other people in order to challenge prejudice, exclusion and discrimination. Human Libraries are part of an international movement that promotes social contact to challenge prejudice, exclusion and discrimination, something increasingly relevant not just in the UK and London, but in our community. A visitor to the Human Library can choose a Book from a range of titles. The difference is that the books are people, and reading is a conversation. The Human Library provides a safe environment for people to engage in dialogue that has the potential to challenge prejudice, stigma and discrimination. It raises awareness of the multiple circumstances that can lead to bullying, abuse and hate crime and takes positive action to address it.

About Nova New Opportunities
Nova’s history spans for over three decades. We set out to help individuals and communities improve their computer skills.
Each year NOVA New Opportunities provides a vital stepping stone for over 1000 disadvantaged residents of North Kensington and the surrounding deprived areas who are unable to access mainstream services and lack the skills and confidence to progress. Many of our users are unemployed, economically inactive or trapped in low-paid work.
NOVA brings about real and lasting change in people's lives by addressing each and every learner as an individual and seeking out ways to best support that person to reach their goals.
