Custody Stores Volunteer

The Opportunity

Work from a list of required stores,
> Check the available Stores
> Reordering
> Restocking from deliveries.
> Maintain the main store and inform relevant officers of stores to be replaced in the custody suite.

The Organisation

The Met Volunteer Programme (MVP) was established in 2001 with the primary aim of getting local communities more closely involved with their policing, and so improving the service we can offer.

Not only does the scheme give you the chance to make a valuable contribution to the safety and security of your community, it also provides the MPS with additional skills, knowledge and resources, allowing Police Officers to spend more time doing what they are trained to do.

The MVP attracts volunteers from all backgrounds, each with their own motivations for investing their time. They take on a variety of different roles, supporting the MPS in areas such as:

Front counter
Media liaison
Victims and witness care
Human resources
Criminal Investigation
Criminal Justice Units
Specialist Crime Departments
Supporting Safer Neighbourhood teams

Skills / Qualifications

>Must be prepared to assist in unheated office some of the time
>Excellent organisational skills.
>Good IT skills
>Good interpersonal skills
