The Opportunity
Help in the fight against HIV and improve people's lives.
St Stephen's Volunteers are required to:
>Provide patients with information, refreshment services
>Lend a listening ear to HIV patients, their friends and families
>Contribute to a more comfortable & calming environment
>Maintain the day to day operation of the Information Exchange,
>Help to administer a discounted vitamin scheme for patients
The Organisation
St Stephen's Volunteers work to support HIV services at the Chelsea and Westminster
Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
They provide information, refreshment services, support and lend a listening ear to HIV
patients', their friends and families and to the medical staff in order to contribute to a more comfortable and calming environment during visits to the hospital's outpatients' clinics and to the Medical Ward.
Services are located on the Medical Ward and Kobler Outpatients Clinic in the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in Fulham, the Dean St Sexual Health Clinic, Soho and in the Nkosi Johnson Unit in Charing Cross Hospital.
Skills / Qualifications
>Good communications and interpersonal skills.
>Ability to work under pressure and flexibly as part of a team.
>A good understanding and demonstration of customer service standards.
>Good oral and written skills
>Non-judgmental
>Good organizational and interpersonal skills
>Good understanding of Microsoft office.
> Efficient and accurate at keeping records and a good understanding of confidentiality.
Volunteers are sought to fill all or part of the following days / hours:
Monday to Friday during clinic opening hours.
