The Opportunity
WVRS is a volunteer befriending service based in Kensington and Chelsea.
Our volunteers provide possibilities for social contact and interaction with older, isolated people in their homes.
Home visits can be arranged on a flexible basis with an understanding of the needs of that person.
We can assist these people with shopping, prescription/post office collections, as well as accompanying them on walks and to their appointments.
The Organisation
WRVS delivers practical support through the power of volunteering, so older people get more out of life. Our vision is a world where every older person has the opportunity and choice to get more out of life.
All the services we provide - from Meals on Wheels to Good Neighbours projects, from emergency support to help in hospitals - are aimed at keeping people in touch with others, and building stronger local communities. We work with other charities and organisations, local authorities and the NHS, meeting needs in communities throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
Skills / Qualifications
No qualifications are necessary however you must have:
> A willingness to help and support elderly / lonely people in their homes.
> Good listening skills.
> Enjoy befriending and being a companion when making regular home visits.
Getting There
We have volunteering opportunities throughout the Borough and we can match you with home visits near to you .
You will need to make your own travel arrangements
