The Opportunity
Westway CT was set up in 1992 to meet the needs as set out above. The current Management Committee have decided that we need to diversify its income streams to take advantage of new opportunities created by the new commissioning and procurement culture. Westway CT have recently set a trading company in order to commercially trade and gift aid the profits back into the charity. This opportunity will enable you to share you skills and experience and assist those who need our help in the local community.
The Organisation
Westway CT provides Community Transport for over 650 organisations and community groups based in Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster offering affordable access to a fleet of both wheelchair accessible and standard minibuses. Groups range from Schools & Youth Organisations to small community organisations serving BME groups and to people with disabilities or mental health needs. We provide Driver Training to all of our members to the Nationally Recognised Midas Standard and PATS. In addition we offer training in a range of specialist areas such as Disability Awareness, First Aid and we successfully deliver PCV D1 Driver Training. Westway CT provides Door-To-Door Services for 1,400 members, comprising of the Social Car Scheme, the Shopper and a Mobility Scooter Loan Scheme. The Car Scheme delivers on average 400 journeys a month with a pool of volunteer drivers donating their time throughout the week to drive residents who find it difficult or impossible to access public transport. The Shopper offers weekly minibus trips to main supermarkets and the Scooter Loan Scheme dovetails well with the other services by offering the opportunity to hire mobility scooters for a half day or full day session from a mobile unit parked in various key areas within Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.
Skills / Qualifications
We are looking for people who have a background in Marketing, Sales, Personnel, Company & Employment Law and Finance. A background in Transport may be useful but is not essential.
