The Opportunity
Super enthusiastic volunteer needed to assist in teaching and enabling young people to do their school work.
Volunteers should be able and willing to support and challenge young people, and be able to work as team, supporting the aims, ethos and practices of the school.
Volunteers will:
> gain experience as teaching assistants,
> meet new people
>get skills working with young people
>have fun
This supplementary school takes place on Friday's evenings between 4pm and 7pm,
The children and young people are between the ages of 8 and 16.
The Organisation
Teach and promote the Somali cultural arts through organising events, exhibitions and competitions. Raising the Somali community's profile by contributing and cooperating with the local community to organise activities that appeal to all age ranges. The organisational aims are around education and volunteering roles within the organisation are as diverse as fundraising, teaching, publicity and organising events.
Skills / Qualifications
Must be literate, numerate and have a good level of education.
