Olympic Volunteer Recruiters Needed!
Volunteer Centre Kensington and Chelsea is urgently looking for people to help us recruit London Ambassadors (the London Mayor's Olympics 2012 volunteering project).
We are looking for more than 100 reliable people with great communication skills, who can work face-to-face with the general public, lead discussions among groups of four people and be as enthused and positive about volunteering as we are.
Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 2 x 5 hour shifts each week (3rd May – 10th June). Shifts are 9.30am-2.30pm or 2.30-7.30pm. Travel expenses (up to £8 a day) and lunch will be provided. You will receive training and a reference after completing 5 weeks of volunteering.
As a volunteer at the recruitment events, you will be the first face-to-face contact for potential London Ambassadors. London Ambassadors are people who are volunteering on one of the Olympics related projects, welcoming people to London. Your role will be to make people feel welcome and help decide if they are suitable.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to lead discussions in small groups (four people), as part of the selection process. You will explain processes to them, sign them in and out, provide name badges and answer questions. This role will give you excellent experience of customer service, and selecting suitable candidates.
