Volunteer Event Awards 2010
Awards 2010
Every year Kensington and Chelsea Volunteer Centre aim to get its volunteers together at social events. We do this so we are able to say thank you for all the work that they do. It is also an opportunity for volunteers to share experiences and meet new people.
Volunteers Week 2010
On 04th June, Kensington and Chelsea joined together with many organisations to say THANK YOU to our volunteers in recognition of National Volunteer Week.
Kensington and Chelsea Volunteer Centre had a unique Volunteer Celebration Event which was held at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, whereby organisations choose their volunteers to celebrate an evening for the work carried out by volunteers.
Our Chief Executive Kirsty Palmer gave a fascinating presentation on the work being done by the volunteers in our community.
Volunteers were presented with an Award Certificate of Appreciation as well as a small gift as a token of appreciation for all of their hard work.
Kirsty Palmer thanks all the organisations, the judges who made such difficult decisions, Sheraton Park Hotel for allowing us to use this beautiful conference room, Jane Hodgkin official Photographer for the night, The Mayor of K&C and Ingrid Jacobson The Chair of the Board of Trustees. However, the most important people to thank are the Volunteers. "This night is about you and about showing our appreciation for all your hard work and commitment throughout the year."
A message from Ingrid Jacobson:
"Well done to all of you for the wonderful Make a Difference Awards Event on Friday, at the end of a busy and likely tiring, Volunteers' Week. I thought the event went well and I heard from lots of people that they really enjoyed it particularly award winners. I know it took an enormous amount of work to pull it all together, particularly as you were down one a couple of key members of staff, but you appear to have rallied together effectively to produce a memorable celebration. I want to extend my special thanks to the four volunteers who I know were particularly key to the success of the day - Alma, Mala, Celia and Susan. As always there are things we might do differently, which we will learn from and incorporate going forward, but the event was an overwhelming success from my point of view. You can all be very pleased with what you have achieved".
Congratulations,
Ingrid
