Partnership with Sainsbury's Ladbroke Grove

Partnership with Sainsbury's Ladbroke Grove

Volunteer Centre Kensington & Chelsea are delighted to announce that they have been chosen as the local charity partner for Sainsbury's Ladbroke Grove for 2010-11.

The partnership starts in July 2010 and runs for twelve months, with the aim of raising funds for the Volunteer Centre and helping Sainsbury's colleagues learn more about their customers' community.  The Volunteer Centre will be running lots of events throughout the year, including a crèche for shoppers' children, bag-packing and sponsored events in the store car park. There will also be collecting tins at every till point for that extra bit of loose change. The money raised will go towards helping more people get actively involved in their local community through volunteering.

Kirsty Palmer, Chief Executive of the Volunteer Centre commented, “We're delighted to have been chosen by Sainsbury's for this partnership. We'd like to thank Sainsbury’s colleagues for choosing us, and of course our clients for nominating us in the first place. We're very excited about the possibilities that the partnership can offer.”

Yvette Philbert, PR Ambassador for Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury's, said, “We are very pleased to be supporting an organisation that reaches so many people in the local area. We’re looking forward to a highly successful and exciting year.”

Local resident and Chair of the Volunteer Centre's Board of Trustees, Ingrid Jacobson-Pinter added, “The partnership with Sainsbury’s Ladbroke Grove offers so much potential, not only in raising much-needed funds for our work but also in extending our reach to potential volunteers throughout the local community.”

The partnership will launch with a big bang in August 2010 and continue through to the end of June 2011. Full details of all the events and activities will be on display in store and available from the Volunteer Centre Kensington & Chelsea website (www.voluntarywork.org.uk).
