Drop-In day at Volunteer Reading Help

Drop-In day at Volunteer Reading Help

Other on 2nd June 2010

Volunteer Reading Help (VRH) is a national charity that helps children who struggle with their reading to develop a love of reading and learning .

They recruit and train reading helpers to work with children aged 6-11 who find reading a challenge and may need extra support and mentoring. Without individual support children can fall behind their peers and lack confidence and self esteem. They are looking for volunteers for local primary schools now.

Drop-In on the 2nd of June between 11am and 2pm

Find out more about what’s involved in being a reading helper with the VRH and you can fill in an application form there and then. There will be staff and volunteers on hand to answer all your questions.

No previous experience is necessary, but volunteers must be available to visit a school twice a week for an hour and a half each session, so three hours in total. Volunteer Reading Helpers provide books, games, support and opportunities to meet other reading helpers while they are volunteering.
