Administration Volunteers are essential to the survival of local charities. They give vital back up to the frontline staff so they can directly serve the beneficiaries of your volunteering. Being an administrator allows you to polish up your own office skills as well as helping out a local charity.

Homeshare use volunteers to provide reliable live-in support and companionship to vulnerable and isolated people. They were desperate to find an administrative volunteer to help them whilst a member of their small team was recovering from an operation Gabriella and Gabriella was interested and is now volunteering for them.
Cathy Mandaza, Homeshare said:
`Having Gabrielle around has made a big difference to our team. At the same time, Gabrielle is getting the exposure that she needs to the work environment and office tasks. She’s been brilliant, she’s very hard-working, willing to learn and focused. She also gets on very well with the team. Gabrielle does Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. She’s really saved us, she’s been great.'
To make sure Gabrielle gets the most out of her volunteering, with the support of her manager, she has developed a list of areas where she wants to improve. The Homeshare team give Gabrielle their time, and make sure she gets the support that she needs in the areas she’s interested in.’
Gabriella came into the Volunteer Centre looking for a volunteer role that would allow her to practice the skills she had learnt at college. By the following Monday, just five days later, she had secured a volunteer placement at Homeshare head office on the Kings Road, Chelsea.
Gabriella:
'The people here are very nice, I already had the knowledge but volunteering here has made me much more confident in my skills.'
