I joined the Volunteer Centre in January 2010 having previously been CEO at Woodcraft Folk and worked in membership development at Girlguiding UK. Before that I was trained in the private sector having read Modern Languages at university. Many people would suggest I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I knew I'd found my place as soon as I started working with and alongside volunteers.

Volunteering makes such a big difference to so many people's lives and I'm really proud to be working to encourage and support more people to be able to get active in their communities. Kensington and Chelsea is such a diverse borough and I think the Volunteer Centre is well-placed to help build bridges between communities through the power of volunteering. From the Resettlement Scheme to Stepping Stones to the core function of the centre, I hope we continue to find new ways to bring people together.

When I'm not working I'm a volunteer myself on two evenings a week, and when I'm not doing that I love to walk, swim and spend far too much money and time on comedy and music gigs.
