What is New Deal?
| New Deal offers high quality work experience for participants to help them improve their own employability, while helping others. A chance to develop capabilities such as team working. |
Why choose the New Deal?

This is your chance to help the community in some way as well as gaining real work experience. New Deal will identify real organisations that can provide quality work experience placements so you can gain the skills you want. Opportunities are wide ranging, from administration, youth work, to media related projects, to name a few. Many of the projects are tailor made to suit your needs. If you do not get an immediate placement, we will do our best to find something that will interest you. |
How Will I Benefit?

Organisations wishing to offer work experience placements under the scheme are called Placement Providers. As a volunteer you will need to provide a high quality of work experience for 26 hours per week, for a period of up to six months if 18-24, and 3 months if 25+ or 50+ |
What Support Will I Get?
|
The Co-ordinator at the Volunteer Bureau can help you identify and set up placements under the scheme as well as helping identify suitable placements based on the your needs and what you can offer. Not only is advice given, but also training and you will be provided with job search elements of the option for you. Assistance is always available if it’s needed. |
Will it Cost Me Anything?
|
No the service is free. Participants on New Deal receive an allowance from the Jobcentre equal to their Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA), plus just over £15 per week. |

of a working environment which has boosted my confidence. It has
allowed me to update my CV, gain work experience and has provided
me with training in Information Technology which should improve
my chances of finding employment in the future The scheme helps people to gain skills and practical experience
in order to boost your chances of finding work. The placement was
rewarding and the warm and friendly environment made me feel part
of the team. New Deal was a stepping stone to finding paid employment
with Kensington & Chelsea Volunteer Centre. |
